It was a warm spring day. My wife and I had decided to meet at the local dog run after work, with her bringing the dog from home. It’s only a ten minute walk from my work, so I walked over.

Thu, 14 Jun 2012 That was how my friend Rich used to answer the phone when he spent some time committed against his will at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center. Rich had threatened violence against his father and himself. Probably his sister too, but he did that even when he was of sound mind, so that doesn’t count. One day, driven to the end of his rope, his father called 911.. one thing led to another (there was some spitting on police officers I’m told) and Rich was committed.

The year was 1992 and I was involved in a high speed car chase through the streets of Manhattan. It was one of the most unlikely and exhilarating experiences of my life. It was a normal Saturday night. I was hanging out with three friends, pretty much my normal Saturday night crew.
